New at PCR: THE NICE GUY TRIO

The Nice Guy Trio / Here Comes the Nice Guy Trio / Porto Franco Records / 2009

The Nice Guy Trio is Darren Johnston on trumpet, Rob Reich on accordion, and Daniel Fabricant on bass. They have released their debut album appropriately titled, Here Comes the Nice Guy Trio. The local trio was awarded the Best Jazz Band award by the SF weekly. While the Nice Guy Trio try not to stick to the label of jazz, they also are inspired by calypso, Balcan dance music, klezmer, and etc. It is obvious that this group is talented, and improvise well together. While I recommend the whole album, here are some of my favorite tracks:
