New at PCR: NEON INDIAN
Neon Indian / Psychic Chasms / Lefse
There’s something absolutely irresistible about Alan Palomo’s project, Neon Indian. On Psychic Chasms, he perfectly combines hippied out psychadelic dreamscapes with synth-disco, yacht rock, dance track beats. Add an overlay of distortion and a cloud of experimental ethos, and you have Psychic Chasms. I honestly cannot resist this album; it is the essence of all that is fun about acid trips, dancing and partying with your friends in the heat of the summer. This means a lot, coming from someone who cannot stand Animal Collective. If you like Bibio or Black Moth Super Rainbow, you will definitely appreciate Neon Indian.
Tracks:
2. Deadbeat Summer
4. Terminally Chill (sooo synthed out Michael McDonald on this one)
6. 6669 (I Dont Know if You Know)
7. Should Have Taken Acid With You
9. Psychic Chasms
For Fans of: Ariel Pink, Deastro, Grizzly Bear, Here We Go Magic, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Bibio
