New at PCR: ERNEST GONZALES

The newest offering from the Friends of Friends project, Ernest Gonzales’ Self Awakening E.P. really highlights the remix artists, rather than the new, up and coming artist it is meant to highlight. The original track, Self Awakening, is a good track, in a similar electronic vein as Daedelus or Hudson Mohawk - starting with an easy paced, slightly gritty beat, building to a fuller, more complex sound. But it’s really the re-workings by Take, Yppah and Faunts that caught my attention. We Can Live in the Forest does stand out as a fun, innocently hyperactive song, no remixing needed, let’s hope we see more tracks like this from Ernest Gonzales.
